Retrain Your Mind

Healing comes from Harmonizing Your Mind, Body and Spirit
Category:

Your body is an organic vehicle for your Spirit on this Earth. It is designed for you to experience life and express your higher self. How much time you have to express your higher self depends on how balanced your body and mind are, which is largely influenced by your level of security

Bottom-Up Approach

The Wholistic Health Path provides you with a roadmap to rebalancing your body systems and improving your innate Healing Capacity. When your body is balanced, your mind is clear, which improves your ability to process information coming from within yourself and your environment via your senses.

Top-Down Approach

Whether you are being mindful or functioning on auto-pilot, your Mind utilizes your established thoughts and behaviors based on your “lens maker,” your mindset, and your perception, the lens that you look through.

Your mindset shapes your perception, while your perception reinforces your mindset.

Feeling Secure

To feel secure you must first have your most primal human needs met: shelter, food and water.

When these basic needs are met, your nervous system can operate in parasympathetic mode – your energy will focus on digestion, rest, repair, or procreating, and you can utilize your strengths and function at the level of the Spirit.

WHEN SECURESPIRIT

Feeling Insecure

If your feel insecure, your nervous system will operate in sympathetic mode, providing you with the energy to get back to a safe place.

What often makes a person insecure is negative perceptions and/or mindset. This shifts you out of parasympathetic tone and into sympathetic tone, triggering your defensive energy and stagnating your Qi.

Improve Communication with Others and Yourself

In addition to Reducing Conflict by improving your communication skills with others, you can also improve your self-talk – your internal dialogue.

Is your self-talk neutral, supportive, or destructive?

  • Mindset: “I’m not good at taking my supplements twice a day.”
  • Self-talk: “See? I missed another dose! I knew I couldn’t do it.”
  • Outcome: Avoids taking supplements entirely → reinforces mindset.

Versus:

  • Mindset: “I can improve by being disciplined to keep trying for twice a day.”
  • Self-talk: “Even though I’ve missed twice a day many days this week, I did succeed many times.”
  • Outcome: More effort and persistence → builds confidence.

If you catch yourself having negative thoughts, ask yourself – is this true? Would I say this someone I care about?

Reframe it!

  • ❌ “I am terrible at this!”
  • ✔️ “I’m in the process of establishing a healthier habit, it will take time.”

Internal Practice

Another path to function at the level of the Spirit is through internal practice (mindfulness, meditation, breath work).

By using your intention to rhythmically follow your breath down to your lower dantien (lower abdomen), then back out through your mouth, you course your energy through the microcosm within your body. With practice, you can scan your body for blockages and work through them physically and energetically. You can send your body’s energy to spots that need nourishment (spots that want stimulation such as pressure and heat), or you can store the energy you build into your lower dantien, building your Postnatal Jing and protecting you Vitality.
